Live Music in Pattaya

One thing you will quickly discover in Thailand is the love of live music. Whether it is cover bands, to rock bands, to jazz trios, to pop music. You will not have to look hard to find live music in Thailand. In the major entertainment areas like the walking streets of Pattaya and Phuket, to the strip in Koh Samui to Sukhamvut Road area downtown. You can find live music almost everyday.

The one thing I really enjoy is how much pride the artists have in going the extra length when they perform. From dressing like their favorite performers, to full on tattoos and hairstyles to match, you can really see how much work these performers that are out over 300 days a year go.

If you really want to immerse yourself in Thai culture, look up some of the spots that do not feature cover music of western world artists. The bars that play exclusively Thai music generally have no foreigners and is a very interesting crowd. You might not know what the words are or what people are singing, but the energy and vibe in bars where live Thai music is being played has to be observed.

In this video, I head to Pattaya and walking street and take in a few shows. Stonehenge on Walking Street is easily my favorite live music bar. Multiple bands in a night hit the stage with a DJ between bands. On the night in question I saw 4 bands and each played for about 45 minutes.
